About these terms
Phone Wave is operated by Xiamen Maimaimai Culture Media Co., Ltd. (厦门市买买买文化传媒有限公司; “we”). These terms govern your use of the service. By visiting or using the websites or the app you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use the service.
How we handle your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
The service
Phone Wave is an AI interactive-film platform. You can browse other people’s stories in the story room, choose what happens in each scene, or start your own world from a premise or an image.
- Browsing stories that already exist, and walking paths that already exist, is free.
- Your first world is free. After that, creating a world or opening a new path costs credits; the price is shown where you act.
- Generation takes time and can fail; credits charged for a failed generation are returned automatically.
The service may be interrupted or changed, for example for maintenance or when a model provider is unstable.
Accounts
- Sign-up is by invitation: you need an invite code from a friend.
- Guests can browse and create a first world; to keep creating you need an account. A guest’s works move to your account when you register.
- Keep your account and password safe. What is done with your account counts as done by you.
- We may restrict or suspend accounts that break these terms.
AI-generated content
Pictures, narration and clips are produced with the help of AI; they are not pre-shot film. Story and share pages are labelled “Content generated with AI assistance”.
Generated content can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unrelated to real events. Please do not treat it as fact or as professional advice.
Your content
- The worlds you create are shown publicly in the story room, and their share pages may be indexed by search engines.
- Other players can open new paths inside your world, and those paths become part of it.
- You must have the right to use the text and images you submit, and they must not infringe anyone else’s rights.
- To run the service, you allow us to store, process and show what you submit, and what is generated from it, within the service.
When you delete a world or your account, we handle it as described in the privacy policy.
Content rules and reporting
Please do not submit or generate content that is illegal, sexual, abusive or harassing, or unsuitable for minors.
- We reserve the right to review submitted text and images; content that does not pass review is rejected.
- A world, or a step another player wrote, can be reported from the report control in the interface; in the app you can also report an author. The reasons you can choose: harassment or abuse, sexual or vulgar content, illegal or harmful content, unsuitable for minors, or other.
- We act on reports: where needed we take content down, mark it as age-restricted, or restrict an account.
- In the app you can block an author.
- Worlds marked age-restricted can be viewed only after you declare that you are 16 or older.
Credits and payment
- Credits are used to create worlds and open new paths. They can be used only inside Phone Wave and cannot be transferred or cashed out.
- What you buy is a “path pass”: a set number of credits that are valid for the number of days shown on the purchase page; credits left after that are void.
- The payment method today is WeChat Pay, in Chinese yuan; any new method will be shown on the purchase page.
- To ask for a refund on a paid order, write to the address below and include the order number.
Account deletion and termination
You can ask to delete your account at any time; the process and the result are described in the Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the version number on this page changes; if you keep using the service after an update, you accept the updated terms.
