AI interactive film (interactive story)
Overview
Phone Wave (Chinese name 电话波炉) is a professionally operated AI interactive film website. The site provides users and creators with services in which pictures and narration are generated with AI assistance.
A user starts from one written premise or one picture, enters a scene made of a picture and the narration beneath it, and chooses what happens next in each scene. The following pictures and narration are generated with AI assistance, and the story continues along the path the user chose.
Main features
Scenes and branches
The site's content is organised in scenes. Each scene is one picture with the narration beneath it. A user taps a person or an object in the picture to see the plot directions available. A branch someone has already walked can be browsed again directly; a branch that has not been generated yet is continued by the system, which generates the next scene. Later scenes record the path by which the user arrived.
Creating and browsing
A user can start creating their own story world by entering one premise or uploading one picture. Browsing public stories that have already been generated is free. A story path the user has walked can be kept as a public share page, for other visitors to keep browsing and continue.
Content labelling
Pictures and narration on the site are made with AI assistance. Every public story share page is marked “AI-assisted content”.
The two sites
Phone Wave runs two independently operated sites; accounts, works and credits are not shared between them. The China site serves users in mainland China and uses Chinese; the international site serves overseas users, with English as its default home page and a separate Chinese home page.
